Virya is back with their incendiary new single, "Seed Of Doubt." Currently riding high off the back of their debut EP, 2024's "From The Ashes," the band throws themselves into one of the most corrosive problems of our age, which is distrust.
"Seed Of Doubt" is ultimately a two-hander in tension and release. With a face-shredding lead guitar line from Wojciech Bator, hammering drums by Jakub Dąbrowski, and the emotionally strung wail of vocalist Marek Bienias, it's a song that always seems on the verge of crumbling, which perfectly reflects the idea of a single seed of uncertainty snowballing into catastrophe.
Their sound is razor-sharp and technical but with a human edge. It evokes genre heavyweights such as Architects and Periphery but is infused with their own rawness and integrity. Bassist Lubomyr Kosakovsky holds the chaos together with a pulse as urgent as one whisper of mistrust can unravel it.
"Seed Of Doubt" reflects modern times where the slightest fissure of trust can grow into complete and utter destruction. Virya doesn't hold back and spews gut culture through driven riffs and gut-feeling energy. The confrontational track asks you to feel the burden of doubt and challenge where its roots have been sown.
But as they work towards their first full-length album, Virya is proving to be the force of reckoning. "Seed Of Doubt" isn't clamoring for your attention. It takes you by the lapels and asks for it.
