In less of a concert performance and more like a bad dream wading through cotton-candy-lined paths, Grammy winner and singer LeAnn Rimes once more showed why she's a pro. The country singer was in for a shocking and slightly embarrassing surprise while performing in the state of Washington when she spit out her front teeth while on stage.
The singer Rimes was at the peak of her hit song, "One Way Ticket," when she suddenly felt something moving in her mouth. "I feel something pop," she recalled experiencing matter-of-factly on a June 22 Instagram video, replaying the incident with a mix of horror and humor. Longtime followers may be aware that the country-pop star has undergone several dental surgeries over the years, including the replacement of some front teeth, which he subsequently bridged. Well, that bridge, in particular, decided to have a grand finale in front of a live audience. But the show must go on, and Rimes dealt with it like a pro.

Instead of freezing or floundering, the singer stopped for a few seconds, ran off to the side of the stage, and, in a feat of non-divahood, popped the bridge back in. That quick fix performed, she returned a moment later, back to the mic, as if nothing had happened. "I panicked and in the middle," she admitted, "and then just went on singing."
And the moment, despite being potentially embarrassing, was received very well, with Rimes calling it "the most epic example of how the show must go on." And she's absolutely right. In a business where perfection is king, Rimes' openness and ability to recover reminded people that life goes on despite a dental disaster, and there's a connection between fans and their artists who, despite billboard-topping hits, still manage to chip a tooth and knock out a few teeth for good measure.
Stories where a Grammy-winning artist loses her teeth onstage and exits to laughter and grace don't come along every day. But LeAnn Rimes is no ordinary artist. She's living evidence that even when life takes a bite out of you literally, you keep smiling, singing, and moving on.
