Jonathan Bailey Opens Up About Relationship Status

"Jurassic World: Rebirth" actor Jonathan Bailey accidentally outed himself on the July 4 episode of Chicken Shop Date. The 37-year-old star of Bridgerton appeared to confirm he was still single when host Amelia Dimoldenberg asked him if he was available for romance, and he replied, "I'm available."

Bailey, who came out as gay publicly in 2018, quipped that he has a "genetic predisposition" to being single, so maybe there's something to that whole availability thing after all. Although his on-screen roles have wowed fans around the world and garnered him attention from admirers, he insisted that the character he plays in Bridgerton hasn't had a significant impact on his love life. "It's a fantasy, isn't it? Romance is grounded and real."

Despite his "heartthrob of Regency London" charm, Jonathan, it seems, is all about being real in his relationships, which he reiterated in a 2023 interview with British Vogue. In that conversation, Bailey discussed his thought process about becoming a father, and he told ET that he envisioned co-parenting alongside a partner, adding, "I'm reading books on adoption. I might co-parent with a woman, but I'm thinking it will be with a man."

Although Bailey didn't discuss details of his dating life, his openness to dating suggests the kind of man who would rather focus on forming genuine relationships rather than striving for the idealism often portrayed in period dramas. For now, it looks like Jonathan Bailey is still single and available, so fans of Bridgerton will just have to keep speculating about who could be lucky enough to catch his eye next.
