Kesha Honors Survivors And Shares Sweet Moment From Cassie Ventura During Emotional Speech

In an act of absolute girl power and healing, Kesha raised her July 23 concert at Madison Square Garden to something more than a tour stop, turning it into a powerful show of solidarity and a salute to survivors everywhere. The singer of "Praying," who is now in the middle of her brazen, empowering "T-ts Out Tour," took a break from belting out songs with a powerful message to think about the love and fan support she's been given, pointing out one thing in particular.

Before Kesha took the stage, Kesha read a card sent from singer Cassie Ventura, a friend of Kesha's who's been making headlines for speaking out about courage in the time after Sean Combs' trial." The "Me & U" singer's sweet gesture did not go unnoticed. Kesha paused and spread some love and its true essence to the audience. "Earlier tonight, Cassie sent me flowers backstage," she said, choking up as the crowd erupted in applause. "I just want you to know that all of this love is not only for me, for anyone who survived anything that they shouldn't have had to survive."

It was a perspective that struck the sold-out crowd to its core, delivered immediately after her soul-baring performance of "Praying," a song that's become an anthem for healing and justice. When Kesha came out, she was greeted with a three-minute, tear-inducing standing ovation, a testament to the connection she has built with fans through honesty and persistence.

And as if we needed any more magic, Kesha later went on X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a photo of the flowers, along with the card. "Thank u, Cassie," she wrote. "Love you sweet girl. My good luck angel for MSG." The evening wasn't only a showcase of Kesha's music, including her new album, her first under independent ownership, released this year. It was also a statement of power, healing, and solidarity. And by spotlighting Cassie's actions and paying tribute to the resolve of survivors, Kesha made it clear that behind the glitter, fame, and stages lie identities, narratives of survival, and notes of solidarity.
