Tori Kelly is preparing to embark on her most personal and joyous project yet: motherhood. The Grammy-nominated songstress and American Idol alum is expecting her first child with her husband of seven years, German basketball player André Murillo. The siren made the announcement in the most "Tori Kelly" way possible through a sweet little song.
In a sweet video called "Let's make a…" posted to her YouTube page, the 32-year-old singer broke the surprise news by sharing a new, unreleased track about the support and strength she feels from her unknown, growing boy. The images depict Tori and André soaking up romantic life, holding hands, stealing kisses, and exchanging heated looks. It's intimacy for its own sake, authenticity in action. The gentle melody wafting over the room is matched by Tori's lyrics as they say it in triplicate, as if underlining the moment. "Passed every test / Boxes checked / I'm ready for what comes next / Let's make a baby." And then, like that, it was announced, subtle, poetic, and powerful.

For Tori, 2025 is a year of huge milestones. Between touring with Ed Sheeran and creating some of the most introspective music of her career, becoming a mom-to-be is the next logical step for the overachiever. And through these past few months, it's seemed like nothing short of kismet: "This year has already been full of highs," she told People, "Getting to perform in stadiums all summer, writing the most personal songs of my career and now getting to start a family with my amazing husband."
Famed for aching hits like "Paper Hearts" and "Dear No One," Tori Kelly has always been one to wear her heart on her sleeve, and her pregnancy announcement is no exception. It was a tribute to love, growth, and new beginnings. And while as fans we're all here to support Tori at such a special moment, what's also apparent is that her artistry will always reflect her personal life. And now, with a baby on the way, life is about to get that much sweeter. Congratulations to Tori and André, some baby bliss appears to be on the horizon.
