Hollywood heartthrob Austin Butler has made shocking admissions about a terrifying, private health scare that left fans speechless. The 31-year-old actor was left temporarily blind for a few moments, and he blames the stunt for this terrifying experience while filming the 2023 drama The Bikeriders. Butler remembered its origins, a debilitating migraine on a plane that left him blind for a few minutes.
The actor revealed in an open chat with Men's Health for their September/October issue that he "willed" his vision back, and it gradually came, saying that the scintillating incident was brought on as a result of extreme exhaustion and sleep deprivation. However, Butler didn't let the severity of the incident deter him from doing his job. Like a true professional, he showed up for work the next day, but attributed his fatigue to stress from a long day and a busy schedule, as one of the industry's most in-demand actors. Yet the story also brought home the price that backbreaking production schedules can take on the most adaptable of actors.

It is not the only health scare Butler has had in recent years. But one day, after he finished production of his critically acclaimed turn in Elvis, which earned him an Oscar nomination, the actor woke up to find he had sharp pain akin to appendicitis that sent him to the hospital. The intensive makeover he underwent to transform into the King of Rock and Roll not only tested him creatively but also took a physical toll on him. As if that wasn't enough for one guy, Butler also mentioned that he had around-the-clock foot pain during the press tour for Dune: Part Two. It hurt so much that for eight months, he could not walk with his toes straight. The unlikely culprit was a small piece of glass, stuck in his foot, no bigger than a grain of rice.
Although fans are grateful the actor has overcome these ordeals in his life, his confessions are also a sobering reminder of the dark underbelly of fame and the sacrifices made in the name of Hollywood glamour. These health issues were scary for Butler, but they do highlight his ability to bounce back and show his dedication to his craft. Austin Butler's journey is one not just of talent but also of resilience in the face of unexpected adversity, proving that even the brightest stars can experience their darkest times.
