Riviir & The Game revive east coast energy with new single "Kochi"

Dropped in anticipation of its music video release, "Kochi" is a time machine taking you back to an age when storytelling and reign claimed the throne. From the first beat drop, it's clear that Riviir has put in his work building a landscape inspired by East Coast rap's golden era, but not weighed down by repeating its past.

Riviir's personal race track performance is confident and grounded, though. His rhythm cuts as much through the beat with precision, and his tone is that of an artist who's after timelessness over trends.  In "Kochi," The Game delivers. His verse on yet another excellent "Kochi" is full of pointed references and razor-sharp bars that serve as a measure of the track's veteran-idol grip. It's a beautiful irony, riding out on over an East Coast-flavored groove with effortless ease. The chemistry between the two artists seems effortless, a union of times and locales with mutual respect as its foundation.

For Riviir to have not only performed but produced "Kochi" speaks volumes about his range and ambition. It's a rare thing these days when an artist gets the chance to hit their stride in collaboration with such legends as The Game, but Riviir is where he belongs by no act of coincidence or simple gesture. With this new single featuring The Game, he's doubling down and preparing to make a more lasting impression. With visuals coming very soon, "Kochi" is an announcement. Riviir is constructing something that retains tribute without sacrificing originality. And if "Kochi" is the blueprint, then he's happily forging a sturdy foundation for what's to come.
