Becca Bloom Weds David Pownall In Lake Como Fairytale

TikTok star Becca Bloom, whose real name is Rebecca Ma, had a stunning wedding to software engineer David Pownall at Lake Como's Villa Balbiano in Italy on Aug. 28. The couple together for just over five years decided to celebrate their love with an intimate affair of just 60 guests, reflecting their introverted selves, as much as their desire to keep their nuptials personal.

"We're both introverts, and the thought of reading our vows in front of hundreds of people felt daunting," Becca said in a recent Vogue article about their wedding. And courageous, their vows were spoken from the heart and genuinely representative of the special bond they share with each other. Becca talked about their shared love of learning and curiosity, as well as their marathon conversations through the night about big ideas and numbers, reflecting the time they had invested in growing their love for each other.

David's vows are a bit more private, but they were also a moment to remember for all. Becca said other than being judged one at a time by his children when they marry, he had now seen how self worth is not from external things we obsess over, from themselves or others and he left with the words "that left no one untouched, a line about wanting mine to be the only face he sees on his last day, and the only hand he holds as he meets God" and had everyone in tears. This emotional load of the ceremony showed how much in love this bride and groom are and how profound their union was.

The bride, in a custom Oscar de la Renta frock covered in laser-cut peonies, honored her parents' Chinese heritage. She accessorised with Chanel heels, gorgeous Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery, and the engagement ring David bought her on a trip to Positano in July 2023. Each and every aspect of the wedding was meticulously thought through and elegant, striking the balance between personal significance and timeless class. Villa Balbiano's lakefront location provided an idyllic Italian backdrop mixing natural beauty with vintage elegance. 

With a calm lake on one side, beautiful gardens on the other, and romantic heritage buildings in between, it was the ideal backdrop for these two.
