“HALO” blends energy with purpose as JRNXLST challenges love and global silence

Delivered with an unflinching rock statement from JRNXLST, "HALO" confronts toxic relationship dynamics and is a call to look inwards and outwards at personal and global responsibility in times of crisis.

"HALO," which is Guerrero's first single, dispels illusions. It sounds like an indie pop anthem, but it has dance-ready energy and hooks that keep you engaged. There is a profound examination of borderline personality disorder, codependency, and guilt.

JRNXLST presents twisted pop melodies over punk guitars and experimental noise, and the sound is large and intimate, courageous and contemplative. Fans of arena-friendly alternative rock will recognize the scope, but "HALO" never loses its introspective core.

The song shifts in the second half, sung entirely in Spanish (Guerrero's first language), into a spooky techno number about doing nothing at all. Inspired by a widely shared photo of a nurse cradling a starving Palestinian child in Gaza, the song moved from personal anguish to collective conscience. The image really struck Guerrero, and his activism is defined by his status as an artist and an immigrant, firmly rooted in his community.

JRNXLST delivers a track driven by tension, and it won't let us rest. It's like a disruptive, analytical, but also emotional, personal, and successful political platform. "HALO" is a reminder that rock music can still make people think, feel, and wake up.
