In a sweet turn of events that shows reality TV truly can lead to a real-life fairytale, former Bachelor contestants Kaity Biggar and Zach Shallcross are now officially husband and wife. The pair, engaged during a tearful finale of The Bachelor Season 27 in 2023, exchanged vows in an intimate Texas chapel on May 23.
Opting for simplicity over grandeur, Kaity and Zach married in an intimate ceremony between them and their nearest and dearest. For a pair who first found romance surrounded by camera crews and rose ceremonies in Thailand, it was a poetic celebration of their journey from public courtship to private connection.
"We got married May 23," Kaity said on the June 11 episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. "We just did like a cute little chapel celebration with our closest loved ones." Zach's parents and two little sisters came down for the day to support him. Kaity's mom, Kaity's aunt, and younger brother were also present for the fun. "We kept it very intimate," said Zach. "Very private."
This wasn't always the plan. Like many engaged couples, the duo's original plan was for something grander. But as they toured spaces and ran the numbers, their vision began to change. So, the change was quite refreshing for Kaity, who initially fell in love with the pretty color palettes and seating charts.

"I just took a step back, and I was like," she said. "I don't know if we need this." She understood that in attempting to satisfy everyone's demands, from her mother to the guests, she neglected what mattered most. "The whole point of a wedding is just staying true to the love and the connection of both of us," she said. "And I felt like I was honing in too much on little details, like, 'Oh, well, my mom would like this, but these people would like that,' and I think I was getting caught up in details, and then I was losing the whole premise of it."
It's a feeling that rings all too true in the current world of over-the-top weddings and social media expectations. To Kaity and Zach, keeping their love story grounded and respecting the natural beauty of their bond was the end all be all. Their intimate celebration is a reminder that love just needs an intention, some honesty, and the people who matter most.
Hosting a small ceremony reflects the couple's growth since meeting on national television. Their courtship played out in front of millions, but their wedding was a private chapter to be shared with only themselves and their families. It's a satisfying balance rooted in social beginnings, now flourishing in personal peace.
Having shared their first chapter as a married couple, Kaity and Zach welcome the next with joy and gratitude. No longer just a Bachelor couple, they're forging a life that's all their own beyond the fantasy suites and final roses. Cheers to their happy ending, as fans celebrate that it's Kaity and Zach who didn't just conquer reality TV love but formed real-life love that's here to stay. In a Texas chapel on a still, spotlight-free day, they showed that some of the prettiest moments were made without anyone else watching.
