Brad Pitt Explains Why He And Tom Cruise Walked Away From Ford v Ferrari

In an interesting revelation that has caught the attention of both film and racing fans, Brad Pitt recently shared that he once had the opportunity to star alongside Tom Cruise in what eventually became the acclaimed movie Ford v Ferrari. The two stars were seen together at the London premiere of Pitt's recent film, creating buzz about their past collaboration.

In a new interview, Pitt explained that more than ten years before Matt Damon and Christian Bale took on the roles of Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles in Ford v Ferrari, he and Cruise were set to be in the film. This would have been a significant reunion for the two actors, who last appeared together in the 1994 film "Interview with the Vampire." However, a creative disagreement ultimately led them to step away from the project. "Tom and I, for a while there, were on Ford v Ferrari," Pitt revealed. "This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it, and made it a great movie."

Pitt shared that it came down to the roles they wanted to play. He was excited to portray Ken Miles, a daring British race car driver, while Cruise was interested in playing Carroll Shelby, the famous car designer. The turning point came when Cruise found out that Shelby wouldn't be doing much driving in the film, which was a deal-breaker for him.

"What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive," Pitt said. "He wanted to play Carroll Shelby and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realized that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn't come through." It's intriguing to think about what could have been in the film world. While Damon and Bale ended up playing those roles and received high praise, fans are now left to wonder how things might have looked with Pitt and Cruise behind the scenes together. Even though that collaboration didn't happen, it's clear that both actors have a lot of respect for each other. With Pitt now leading the film F1, there might still be a chance for them to work together in the future. After all, in Hollywood, there are always unexpected twists and turns.
