Fan-Favorite Stars Missing From Cast Reveal Of Ted Lasso Season 4

Fans of "Ted Lasso" may want to brace themselves: AFC Richmond may soon be taking the field without some of its most beloved players. In a plot twist, Apple TV+ unveiled an early production announcement for that hotly anticipated Season 4 of the comedy, and there are some conspicuous omissions. Notably, however, Phil Dunster, who won fans over as the perpetually growing and changing Jamie Tartt, is not included in the cast list.

After three standout seasons and significant character development, the news of Dunster's absence is a gut punch to fans who have followed Jamie's redemption arc so closely. But he's not the only one getting sidelined. Also noticeably absent from the announcement are a couple of key cast members: Nick Mohammed (Nate Shelley), whose unenviable journey from sweetly insecure assistant to hostile manager was one of the show's most discussed plotlines; Toheeb Jimoh (Sam Obisanya), the moral center of Richmond, and Cristo Fernandez (Dani Rojas), the living embodiment of footballing joy. Sarah Niles, Anthony Head, Kola Bokinni, Billy Harris, and James Lance are among other missing favourites.

Apple TV+ announced the return of Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent), Juno Temple (Keeley Jones), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Welton), and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins), but the radio silence on all others has sent fans into a tizzy of guessing. Several new faces will join the cast for Season 4, including Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, and Grant Feely, who will take over the role of Ted's son, Henry. The loss of these key characters might signal that the series is taking a new, bold direction, or it may indicate that negotiations are underway behind the scenes. Nevertheless, the unplanned cast shake-up brings a cloud of uncertainty to what had been a feel-good fan favorite. Season 4 is shaping up to be the most unpredictable yet.
