Trisha Paytas has once again shown that when it comes to baby names, she feels inside the warp zone, entering another cinematic universe. The internet-famous star and her husband, Moses Hacmon, welcomed their baby boy, Aquaman Moses Paytas-Hacmon, on Sunday, July 18. She featured on the July 22 episode of her podcast Just Trish.
Like a real performer, Trisha didn't just say the name but sang it. Halfway through the podcast, she unzipped her jacket to reveal a sparkling, bedazzled Aquaman t-shirt and then a giant Aquaman statue. "It was just so perfect," she said, smiling, recounting the genesis of the name that has already generated a buzz. For Trisha, the label Aquaman is all about the combination of personal obsession and tribute to a partner. "Not only is it so related to me, but it's also so related to Moses," she said, speaking of her husband's love for water, as well as her own profound love of the Aquaman franchise.

The 37-year-old explained that she had loved Aquaman since 2017 and had completely immersed herself in the DC world before settling on the name. "I've been wearing Aquaman t-shirts for years," she said. "II've gone to so many comic-cons for Aquaman. And I really fell in love when we rewatched Aquaman. We watched all the Aquamans, I watched the cartoon, I was watching everything." With Aquaman joining sisters Malibu Barbie and Elvis, Trisha and Moses are continuing their naming pattern of striking, movie-derivative appellations that reflect their love for pop culture and storytelling. The announcement is a delightful fusion of whimsy, fandom, and family, par for the course for a couple who wear their hearts and favorite characters on their sleeves.
